Our Team

Dr Ben Harris, Lead Dentist

After 9 years away from Christchurch practicing Dentistry in London and Auckland, Ben returned home to Christchurch in
2007 having just completed his Fellowship in Sydney, Australia.

Ben graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor
of Dental Surgery in 1997 and is an active member of the NZ Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the NZ Dental Association and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Ben performs general and cosmetic dentistry using the
latest equipment, materials and methods. His team is so committed to being on the leading edge that they undertake many many hours of extra training every year. Ben alone has attended over 200 hours of further training in the last 3 years.

Anne Friend, Practice Manager

Anne has been with the North Avon team since 2001 and is
a very friendly face that you meet at the front of house. Anne ensures that all patients that come through their doors are
put at ease and leave feeling satisfied with their treatment.
She enjoys the interaction she has with the various patients that come through their doors and the challenges they
present. Anne also enjoys working alongside a great team
to provide excellent dental treatments to all their patients.

When Anne is not at the practice she enjoys spending time with her family and her many animals that include twelve Alpacas.

Dr Emma Courtney, Dentist

Emma grew up in England and trained as a dentist at The University of Liverpool. She served five years as a Dentist in The Royal Navy; during which time she worked in Scotland, England and Gibraltar.

Emma arrived in New Zealand in 2005 and worked in a dental practice near Auckland, where she met her Husband before they moved down to Christchurch in 2006.Emma has a post graduate diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, which ensures you are in very capable gentle
hands.

Emma enjoys all aspects of Dentistry particularly implant and restorative treatments.Outside of dentistry Emma is keen on tramping, playing hockey and watching the odd game of rugby.

Dr Deborah Casutt, Dentist

Deborah is a highly experienced and gentle dentists who graduated from Cardiff, Uk in 1985. She has been with the team at North Avon where she enjoys seeing all her patients and helping the nervous ones overcome their fear.

Deborah's dental interests include cosmetic dentistry and hypnotherapy. She always looking to expand her skills and knowledge in the dental area in which she continues professional development by attending dental courses.

Outside the dental practice Deborah is a keen traveller, tramper and cook.

Lisa Meredith, Dental Hygienist

Lisa completed her studies in dental hygiene with the
University of Otago in 2007, she has been working in the
dental industry for the past seven years in the UK and New Zealand. Lisa is registered with the New Zealand Dental
Council and a member of the New Zealand Dental Hygiene Association.

Lisa is committed to the oral health of our patients and
believes that regular care is the best care. She encourages
all of our patients to visit us on a regular basis to have their teeth examined and cleaned, as the earlier we identify any
problems, the less difficult and expensive they are to treat
and the better the results. Lisa is experienced with nervous patients and takes extra care to be gentle, as well as thorough. She also keeps up to date with her knowledge and skills by going to professional development courses, and believes in the importance of educating her patients to enable them to achieve long term health.

In her spare time Lisa enjoys tramping, salsa dancing, motor racing, cooking and the laid back lifestyle that New Zealand offers.
