Our Team

Dr Rob Young, Lead Dentist

Rob established the three Smile Creations practices, beginning with Waikanae in 2006, then Levin in 2007 and Otaki in 2008 before joining the Lumino group in late 2011. He is a highly skilled and experienced dentist, having graduated in 1986 from Otago University.

The part Rob enjoys most about being a dentist is restoring someone’s smile and his dental interests lie in cosmetic dentistry and implants. Outside of the practice Rob loves getting involved in his community through his work teaching Kung Fu.

Dr Judith Lee, Dentist

Judith has been a part of the Lumino Levin team since late 2011. She has a wealth of dental knowledge, receiving her DDS from National University, Columbia in 1991, followed by her LDS from Barcelona University, Spain in 2005 and a Certificate in Implantology from Santiago de Copostela University, Spain in 2007 - and she continues to update her skills at both National and International level.

Judith finds the most enjoyable part of her role to be seeing a nice smile! Her interests lie in general dentistry, dental surgery and above all caring for the people she treats. In her spare time Judith loves walking alongside beautiful New Zealand places, knitting and counting sheep!

Samantha Badenhorst, Dental Hygienist/Therapist

Sam graduated with her BOH in 2010 from the Auckland University of Technology and has been with Lumino since 2011. She loves interacting with her patients, understanding their needs, and working together with them to improve their overall oral health.

Sam’s interests include educating adolescents about oral health, educating her patients about gum disease and the link to their overall systemic health and working with a ‘Prevention is better than cure’ motto.

In her spare time, Sam enjoys sightseeing, running and spin classes. Her weekends are spent catching up with her husband as he is a full time vet student.

Sam also works in Lumino's Otaki and Palmerston North practices.
