Our Team

Dr Sergei Antipenko, Dentist

Sergei has over 17 years dentistry experience, having graduated with a BDS degree in Russia in 1984. Prior to moving to New Zealand he worked in a variety of dental
roles in Russia, including a position as lead dentist of a dental team caring for over 3000 workers at a government plant.

Sergei is committed to providing dental treatment in a
friendly and caring environment to achieve optimal dental health and give his patients a better smile. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry but has special interest in cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, preventative dentistry and implants. He makes sure to continually enhance his knowledge through seminars, conferences and
post-graduate training courses.

Outside of dentistry Sergei loves to spend his time with his
family of three daughters tramping, camping and playing
volleyball, tennis and guitar.

Dr Richard Liggins, Dentist

After completing a degree in Marine Biology in 1979 and travelling the world, Richard graduated with his degree in dentistry in 1987. He is continuing his education in
complex aesthetic rehabilitation of people’s mouths, dental implants, and modern endodontic techniques.

Richard loves helping people reach their own potential for a healthy life. He enjoys making this contribution in an authentic, caring way and enjoys the daily challenge of providing a high quality of work. Richard is especially interested in Aesthetic Oral Rehabilitation combined with preventative dentistry, sedation techniques - including hypnosis, appearance dentistry and making the dental
experience as enjoyable and non-threatening as it can be.

Outside of the practice Richard loves to spend his time diving,
surfing, at the gym, playing with his little boy, and he also
dabbles in underwater photography. Richard also works at
Lumino's Whangarei (Smile by Design) practice.

 

Gillyan Stringer, Practice Manager

Gillyan has been with Lumino for a number of years; she began as a Dental Assistant, sitting her Dental Assistant Certificate in 1997 and moved into reception in 2004.
Gillyan gets a real joy from creating a warm and friendly environment where she can enable patients to feel
relaxed and welcome. She also makes sure to show real interest in every patient’s concerns and needs; happily
going the extra mile to ensure excellent customer service.

Outside of work Gillyan enjoys spending as much time
with family as possible. She loves to travel, spend time
with friends, go boating – and of course fit in some retail therapy!
