Our Team

Dr Rob Young, Lead Dentist

Rob established the three Smile Creations practices, beginning with Waikanae in 2006, then Levin in 2007 and Otaki in 2008 before joining the Lumino group in late 2011. He is a highly skilled and experienced dentist, having graduated in 1986 from Otago University.

The part Rob enjoys most about being a dentist is restoring someone’s smile and his dental interests lie in cosmetic dentistry and implants. Outside of the practice Rob loves getting involved in his community through his work teaching Kung Fu.

Dr Michael Satur, Dentist

Michael has a wealth of education and experience stemming from his years of practicing dentistry in India, where he graduated with his BDS in 1984, following his BSc. in 1980. He came to New Zealand in 1999 with his family, gained his New Zealand registration and has been a part of the Waikanae practice since February, 2011.

Michael enjoys assisting patients to overcome their fear of the dentist and dental treatment. He has an interest in oral surgery, sedation and cosmetic dentistry and hopes to start fitting implants soon. When he’s not in the practice Michael enjoys gardening, cooking and music.

Dr Kefilwe Tsheko, Dentist

Kefilwe joined the Waikane team in March 2012. She is an experienced dentist, having worked in dental practices in Botswana and Australia prior to her move to New Zealand some years ago.

Kefilwe gained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Temple University, USA in 1998, having already completed her BSc. in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University, USA in 1994. She loves the feeling of being part of team and sharing ideas with her colleagues.

Kefilwe’s dental interests include restorative dentistry, endodontics, periodontics and extractions. In her spare time, Kefilwe loves reading, movies and playing with her young daughter.

Junelle Daniel, Dental Therapist

Junelle is an experience dental therapist who has been working at the Waikanae practice since September 2006. She originally attended the Wellington School for Dental Nurses in 1972, and then completed her ARDS Refresher and NZDREX in 2006. Junelle is still keen to build on her current knowledge and is looking into courses for adult dental therapy and a hygiene add-on to her current qualifications.

Junelle finds fitting fillings to be one of the most enjoyable parts of her role and she always makes sure to try and prevent future dental problems through discussing and informing her patients about home oral care. Junelle’s interests outside of the practice include biking, musical theatre and her pets.
