Lead Dentist

Dr Chris Brooks

Chris graduated in 1986 from University of Birmingham in UK. He has been with Lumino City Dental since 2008. Chris is Lead dentist at the practice and also a member of the Lumino Clinical Advisory Board. He is also vice chair of the Waikato/BOP Peer Review committee.

Chris is interested in general restorative dentistry as well as cosmetic, periodontal (gum) and endodontic (root filling) treatments. Chris also undertakes intra-venous sedation for anxious patients.

Chris is actively involved in forensic dentistry and is one of a handful of dentists in New Zealand with a post graduate qualification in the subject from the University of Hertfordshire (1996). He took part in Operation Earthquake after the Canterbury quake for which he received the Canterbury Citation. He remains actively involved in case work and training in this field.

Outside of dentistry Chris lives on a lifestyle property running a small flock of Suffolk sheep. He is married with two grown children and enjoys walking, competitive football, cooking and music.

Dr Kevan Wong

Kevan has been providing both surgical and prosthetic implant treatments for over 20 years.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a degree in Dental Surgery from the University of Otago, New Zealand. He has also been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from the University of London in Implant Dentistry, for his original work in dental implantology, bone grafting and sinus work.

Kevan has diverse interests apart from dentistry, research, and family. He is a keen hunter, fisherman, diver, and spends a lot of time boating. But he has recently taken up the exciting sport of motorcycle trail and adventure riding.

Dr Adele Fletcher

Adele graduated from Newcastle University in 2013 with a BDS, MFDS.

Adele has an interest in general dentistry and enjoys meeting new people along with helping them feel happier about their teeth.

Outside of the practice you will find Adele socialising with friends and seeing the sights of New Zealand.

Dentist

Dr Ryan Smagalski

Ryan graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry in 2012 with a DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery).

The most enjoyable part about his role is being able to relieve dental pain. Ryan’s clinical interests are cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. He has also completed a one year general practice residency at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York.

Outside of the practice Ryan enjoys paddle boarding, hiking and hopes to take up hang gliding. Ryan has recently relocated to New Zealand and thinks New Zealand is the most beautiful place he has ever been to and feels privileged to live here.

Dr Linda Reithofer-Taylor

Originally growing up in Tauranga, Linda trained and qualified as a dentist at Otago University in 1980 where having graduated she taught at the University and then practised as an Itinerant Dentist in Australia serving several Aboriginal communities in remote areas and also as a practitioner at the Base Hospital in Cairns, Australia.

Originally growing up in Tauranga, Linda trained and qualified as a dentist at Otago University in 1980 where having graduated she taught at the University and then practised as an Itinerant Dentist in Australia serving several Aboriginal communities in remote areas and also as a practitioner at the Base Hospital in Cairns, Australia.

In the mid 1980's Linda travelled to the UK and forged a very successful career both as an Associate and later as a Practice Principal and owner. During this time she worked predominantly as a private dentist and within the NHS dental system in the 1980s. Linda was a Vocational Trainer for newly qualified dentists’ as well as undertaking further qualifications at UCLAN University in Implantology and Bristol University in general Dental postgraduate studies.

Linda is passionate about dentistry and is complimented by her patients for her professional manner and ability to put clients and children at ease especially where they may appear anxious. She has over 35 years experience and has particular interests and skills in surgical extractions, root canal fillings, dentures, cosmetic procedures and treatments, and Dental Implants.

Personal interests focus mainly around her family, with her mother in Tauranga and her husband, three adult sons and two Maine Coon cats. Other interests are following Rugby and Cricket, crafts, walking and Mountain gazing when time allows.

Hygienist

Jason Birch

Jason graduated from the University of Otago in 2005. He has recently returned to New Zealand after spending seven years practising in Noosa, on the Sunshine Coast of Australia.

To meet all your dental hygiene needs, Jason continues to enhance his professional knowledge & skills by attending professional courses throughout the year.

In his spare time he enjoys Fishing, Jet Skiing, Mountain Biking, Photography as well as walking his dogs along the many beaches here in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.

Hygienist

Candice Taylor

Candice Taylor started out as a dental assistant in 1994 and graduated in 2002 from the University of Otago, with a Diploma of Dental Hygiene.

Candice has over 20 years of experience in the dental industry and still gets a kick out of helping people look after their smiles.

Listening and finding out what matters to you about your teeth and smile is important to her, so she can work with you to achieve the best outcomes for your oral health.

Outside of work she loves to grow her own herbs, to make her own fresh pestos as well as searching for the best gluten free recipes she can get her hands on!

Pamela Jackson

Pamela leads our team and ensures our patients feel welcome and have a positive dental experience.

She has been involved in the dental industry in many forms since 1980 and enjoys the personal contact and relationships built with patients and the team.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family & friends, travelling, cake decorating, anything creative, and reading.
