Jacob is passionate about providing dental care that is second to none. Based in private practice in Dunedin, Jacob has been the Lead Dentist of Knox Dental since 2007.
After graduating with distinction from Otago University in 2002, Jacob gained valuable surgical experience as a Dental House Surgeon. This was consolidated further when he worked in a surgical team in Manchester, England. After graduating with distinction from Otago University in 2002, Jacob gained valuable surgical experience as a Dental House Surgeon. This was consolidated further when he worked in a surgical team in Manchester, England. After being awarded the fellowship of the RACDS (general stream) by examination in 2008, Jacob received the NZDA Outstanding Young Dentist award in 2009.
Jacob works with a wide range of general dental procedures, including IV sedation, surgical extractions, molar endodontics, minimally invasive crowns and veneers. He gives lectures on decay prevention and management of cracked teeth as well as being the founder and host of the New Zealand Dental Podcast. He is a member of the New Zealand Society of Sedation in Dentistry, New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentists and New Zealand Dental Association. Jacob has also been involved in the education of undergraduate students at the Otago University Dental School as a part-time clinical tutor and guest lecturer on various topics.
He serves on the Clinical Advisory Board for Lumino nationally, and has served as the President of the Otago Branch of the New Zealand Dental Association.
Recently having formed a connection with the Tongan Oral Health service, Jacob is volunteering his time to partner with them, in their commitment to improve the Oral Health of the Tongan people.
Outside of the clinic, Jacob is married with three children and is actively involved in Equippers Church and Cycling Otago, Kids Soccer and he is a keen skier.
Dr Chuen Lin
Chuen Lin graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Distinction from the University of Otago.
She is passionate about all aspects of dentistry, in particular restorative dentistry. She loves getting to know her patients and when they leave with a smile on their face, it truly makes her day.
Chuen Lin is committed to keeping up to date with the ever evolving dental industry, its technologies, and practices.
Currently she tutors at the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Otago and is also a member of the Dunedin Study research team within the Faculty.
In her free time, Chuen Lin enjoys spending time with family, playing badminton, and reading.
She is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese and Malay.

Dr Simon Guan
Simon has joined us to help patients with oral mucosal diseases and orofacial pain. We’re excited to have his expertise and wide range of knowledge on our team.
Simon is currently a senior lecturer in Oral Medicine at the Faculty of Dentistry, at the University of Otago. He graduated with BDS and qualified as a registered Oral Medicine Specialist after completion of his MBChB and DClinDent from the University of Otago. He has mentored both undergraduate and postgraduate students in Oral Medicine and TMJ clinics.
Simon is also a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and fellow of Academy of Oral Medicine Australasia.
Dr Kylie Kelvin
Kylie graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2021.
Her dental interests include esthetic dentistry & restorative dentistry.
Kylie's main goal is to make patients feel comfortable and have them leave empowered and more confident.
Kylie enjoys meeting different people from different walks of life & learning about them. She also enjoys giving her patients a chance to smile again.
Outside of the practice, Kylie likes playing disc golf and discovering more new disc golf courses to practice at. She also likes going for walks along the beach and spending time with her loved ones & family.
A fun fact about Kylie is that she was once very into bodybuilding and was a 'gym-freak'.
Senthilkumar Vedagiri
Senthilkumar Vedagiri graduated from the University of Otago as a registered Oral Health Therapist in 2019 and completed his postgrad in 2020.
Senthilkumar enjoys working with every single patient of his. He also likes teaching students and works part-time at the University of Otago.
Senthilkumar aims to make visiting a dental practice a good experience for every single patient and takes pleasure in treating challenging cases.
He enjoys making good relationships with patients which gives him work satisfaction and motivates him to come to work every day.
Outside of work Senthilkumar coaches cricket for young kids and plays cricket and badminton.
Dr Murray Robertson
Murray joins us from Hamilton after being the principal dentist of Lumino Medford House for 37 years, having owned this practice for 29 of those years.
Murray has devoted his professional life to building a practice focused on prevention; investing in state-of-the-art technology to deliver the most advanced dental care available.
