Mike was born in Northland, grew up in Wellington and graduated from Otago University Dental School in 1989. Mike has a wealth of experience, he joined Mt Eden Dental Surgery in the early 90’s, as the young gun. Now 30 years on Mike is one of the longest serving dentists in the Mt Eden area.
He enjoys providing quality dentistry to his large and loyal patient base. Mike is affectionately referred to as 'the nice guy' of Dentistry, his skill levels are second to none and he can make a difficult job seem easy.
Outside of dentistry Mike enjoys golf, boating and fishing.
Nate received his dental degree from the University of Otago in 2014. Before moving to Auckland, he practiced in Levin and Tauranga. Sahar moved to NZ from the UK in 2012 , she lives in Mt Eden and has children at the local schools. She qualified in 1999 from Guy’s Hospital Dental School in London spending a period of 2 years in a Maxillofacial Department developing her oral surgery skills and was successful in obtaining her Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Following this, Sahar spent over 10 years in general dental practice providing a wide variety of treatment. We are very lucky to have Sahar working with us, she has a special interest in mandibular advancement snoring appliances and has experience using Invisalign techniques for Orthodontic problems.
Tisha graduated from the University of Otago [ with Credit]. Having experience in General Practice in Tauranga and Auckland, she is excited to serve the Mt Eden community, the place where she grew up and calls home. Tisha takes great pride in her work , ensuring her patients get the best service possible , making every dental visit a pleasant one. She is dedicated to continued education and is passionate about the use of modern materials with the latest techniques. On weekends, you will find her skateboarding and latin street dancing.
For many years we are fortunate to have had a successful working relationship with Don Macalister who operates from our Surgery most weeks. This means anybody requiring Oral Surgery such as Wisdom Tooth removal or advice on tricky issues can be seen by him very conveniently. Don is a very skilled and experienced Oral Surgeon. He has developed an amazing Intravenous Sedation Technique using very precise modern equipment to administer sedation with target controlled infusion. Don lectures internationally on this subject and is considered an expert.
Gala graduated from AUT in 2016 as an oral health therapist. Since graduating she has worked in NZ, Australia and the UK. She has quickly managed to impress our patients with her pleasant demeanour and gentle approach. Her training encompasses use of local anaesthetics, whitening procedures, radiographs and most importantly the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gum conditions. She is passionate about educating patients and promoting good oral health. She has recently returned back to Auckland with her partner and their 1-year-old daughter Maggie.
Vicky is originally from Auckland and graduated from AUT as an Oral Health Therapist in 2011. She has been working in the dental field for almost 20 years; with her first role as a dental assistant, leading her to pursue a degree in Oral Health.
In her downtime, she loves being active with resistance training and hot yoga, exploring beautiful places around Aotearoa and spending time with her family. She is passionate about dental education and prevention and thrives in making the patient experience comfortable and informative.
Originally from Brazil, Larissa has an Uncle who is a Dentist she is a natural in the Dental Surgery. She is a great Dental Assistant very organized and very friendly.
Anais works as both a receptionist and a dental assistant. On the weekends you will find her out hiking, hanging out with friends, or going camping. She is social and loves to chat with patients and takes pride in making them feel as comfortable as possible.
Siri enjoys all aspects of dentistry and recently joined our team as Dr Nate’s dental assistant.
She is a qualified dentist overseas and enthusiastic in learning new aspects on her daily routine.
Outside of her work she enjoys spending quality time with family.
Shria is our youngest staff member. She is a skilled Dental Assistant and a joy to work with. It is great to have someone to teach us how to behave like "today's people". We are happy to learn.

Angela is our Practice Manager. She has a nursing background and when she first came to New Zealand from Holland worked for us at first as a Dental Assistant. Her kiwi husband was a patient of the practice his whole life. Angela has a couple of children now and has a busy life looking after them plus all of us. Angela is the "go to person" around the practice and is always willing to help.
Penny has worked with us for many years now. At one stage we had one of Penny's daughters as an employee as well. After a stint overseas Penny is back working on Reception part time. She is a great person to have around and is valued by the other staff as well as the patients.
Catherine is a university student who works at our practice as a receptionist. She is originally from Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands, where she worked at the Lumino dental practice. She has a very bubbly personality and will greet you with a smile as soon as you come through the door.
