Dr Arishma Lata is one of the leading dentists in Lumino The Dentists - a place she calls her second home having been with them for about 10 years. Spanning a career of over 15 years in professional dental experience, Arishma completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in Fiji and then upgraded her Degree at University of Otago.

Arishma is currently practicing at Lumino Sanctuary Dental giving her patients the smile and oral health care they always wanted. With a beaming smile, she says it is a privilege to be a part of such a great company. “I get satisfaction from being in a very engaging environment, an inclusive culture, working with talented support team members and continuously learning”, she adds. She is a strong believer that the secret to success is listening with intent to understand her patients' needs to provide them with the best dental treatment. Outside of work, Arishma is a gym enthusiast and also an International Les Mills Gym Instructor.  Dental, mental and physical wellbeing are all key to creating Smiles and a Happy Life.

Over the years, Sony has focused on learning about holism and promotes a humanistic culture in dentistry. In her gentle and empathetic approach, she strives to achieve clinical excellence. Sony ensures a pleasant dental experience for her patients by explaining procedures clearly and succinctly to reduce fear and anxiety. She is passionate about oral health education for a positive life outcome.

Dr Sony has a keen interest in Cosmetic dentistry which includes teeth straightening with Invisalign clear aligners, smile designing and ceramic veneers. Much of her time is devoted to General and preventive dentistry along with minimal intervention dentistry.

She is currently furthering her experience in Dental Implants and use of Botox in dentistry.

Outside of work, she is a mother to two beautiful young kids and enjoys going on hikes with her canine companion. She is also a practitioner of yoga.

Helen graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2020. As a new graduate, she spent a year and a half working in a busy practice in the southern town of Balclutha, before moving back to East Auckland where she grew up.

Her focus in dentistry is not only fixing the teeth that require it but building lasting rapport with patients on a foundation of trust, so that you can focus on long term oral health together. Helen finds watching patients’ health and hygiene improve over time under her care one of the most rewarding aspects of the job. Trust her attentive personality and humorous nature will help ensure that every patient leaves with a smile.

Born in Christchurch, Helen is a true Kiwi at heart, she spent 6 years in Korea during her formative years and can therefore speak Korean as well as English. 

Outside of dentistry, Helen is passionate about the arts. She enjoys drawing, painting, pottery and making clay figures, and relishes trying out new forms of arts and crafts. She uses swimming and music to destress, and enjoy singings, playing the guitar and ukulele.

Quincy graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2017 with degree in Oral Health Science. As an oral health therapist, he provides dental treatment for adolescent patients and hygiene services for adult patients.

Quincy trained at a medical university overseas and completed his medical degree before he came to New Zealand in 2002. He worked for Auckland Regional Dental Service for two years as oral health therapist before joining Lumino the dentist in 2019.

Quincy is gentle and caring in nature and his empathy for patients helps him to deliver compassionate care and make his patients feel more comfortable during treatment.

Quincy is always looking to develop himself by broadening his professional knowledge base and skills through conferences, courses and self-directed readings. He can speak English and Mandarin fluently.

In his spare time, Quincy enjoys good food, music, movies and basketball.

Amandeep works over two Lumino practices in East Auckland and has a long standing loyal patient base. Amandeep graduated from AUT with a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health in 2021 (Overseas Graduated Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2011).

Amandeep has a special interest in cosmetics dentistry and teeth whitening treatments.

Amandeep is strongly committed to delivering oral health care to a high standard with compassion. She aims to provide a pleasant and positive experience for every individual through an emphatic approach.

She continues her professional development and stays updated by regularly attending courses and is a member of the NZ Dental & Oral Health Therapists Association.

When she is not at work, she also loves spending time with her family and enjoys hiking and outdoor adventures.

Lyndsey has been with Sanctuary since our beginning, and we are very grateful to have her on our team. She has a lifetime of experience in dentistry starting her career as a dental nurse and working in a variety of dental roles over her career.

Lyndsey has particular expertise in discussing treatment options with our clients and organising and scheduling often more complex treatment plans.  She has a passion for ensuring that you understand all the options available to you and that you have time to ask any questions that you may have. She capably co-ordinates the visits for people that travel from afar to see us.

Lyndsey teaches the piano in her spare time and spends time with her many beautiful grandchildren.

Philomena, or more commonly known as Mena, was born in Ireland and has over 20 years experience within the dental industry in New Zealand. It was her dream from leaving school to be in dentistry.

She loves helping the local community feel comfortable and cared for whenever they come to see the dentist. The caring and professional demeanour of Lumino suits her style of creating and fostering relationships with patients.

She says she loves the people she gets to interact with the most about her job, and likes making them feel special and valued. Mena also likes knowing that she can make a difference with her enthusiasm and drive to always offer the best service.

When she’s not in practice, Mena likes helping out within the local community, walking her dog, doing yoga and really just living a healthy lifestyle. An interesting fact about her is that she actually loves playing soccer – in fact, she coaches her 8-year-old son’s soccer team! She is also a guest speaker for the Salvation Army’s bridging programme.
