Dr. Neil Dewar

Prime interests: Amalgam-free and cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, including Invisalign and fixed and removable appliances, implants and crown and bridge procedures.

Neil is originally from Zimbabwe and trained at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa where he earned his degree with distinction, winning several major prizes.

Neil is interested in all aspects of dentistry and has travelled extensively around the world to improve his knowledge and techniques. With a special interest in orthodontics, including Invisalign, early intervention techniques and advanced restorative and implant procedures, Neil has a particular focus on cosmetic dentistry. Neil is interested in all aspects of dentistry and has travelled extensively around the world to improve his knowledge and techniques. With a special interest in orthodontics, including Invisalign, early intervention techniques and advanced restorative and implant procedures, Neil has a particular focus on cosmetic dentistry. This builds on his long-standing involvement in amalgam-free dentistry and the safe removal and placement of all dental materials.

Neil has many years’ experience in the Cerec system of producing computerised ceramic dental restorations. In addition, Neil has studied further and holds a Certificate of Proficiency (C.O.P.) in forensic science as well as being a founder member of the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the New Zealand Dentists Orthodontic society. He also holds membership of the American Association for Functional Orthodontics, the New Zealand Dental Association and Auckland Dental Association.

Prime interests: Cerec Restoration, Cosmetic Dentistry and the Challenge and reward of treating children.

Dr. Miriam Al-Kaissi trained at the University Of Otago School Of Dentistry. Following graduation she returned to her home town of Palmerston North, where she worked for several years.

Seeking a different work environment, Miriam then moved to a Dental practice in Donnybrook, a small rural town in Western Australia where she worked for two years before returning to New Zealand.

Dr. Miriam Al-Kaissi trained at the University Of Otago School Of Dentistry. Following graduation she returned to her home town of Palmerston North, where she worked for several years.

Seeking a different work environment, Miriam then moved to a Dental practice in Donnybrook, a small rural town in Western Australia where she worked for two years before returning to New Zealand.

Miriam attends many continuing education courses to keep up to date with new procedures and emerging technology. She is a member of the ANZSPD. Miriam is a member of the New Zealand and Australian Dental Associations and is working towards becoming a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Angela Endeacott

Originally from Scotland, Angela has been working in the dental profession for 24 years. She started working as a Dental Assistant in 1988 and gained her national certificate in dental assisting from Langside College in Glasgow. She then went to study at Glasgow Dental Hospital and graduated with her diploma in Dental Hygiene in 1993.

After graduating she worked with the Ayrshire and Arran NHS Trust in their special needs department, helping to look after the oral health of children and adults with special needs. This included educating carers about oral health, and introducing proper oral hygiene into daily routines.…

She moved to New Zealand in 1994 and, in her 19 years at Lumino St Heliers, she has continued developing her passion for preventive dental care.

Alicia Elliott

Alicia is from Dunedin and completed a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2017. As an Oral Health Therapist she is qualified in both dental therapy and dental hygiene scopes of practice, and she provides valuable expertise to help young people with oral health issues. She has a particularly strong focus on the prevention of oral diseases, and is passionate about educating people on the importance of oral hygiene practices. Alicia has a special interest in Paediatric dentistry and believes good oral health practices need to begin at an early age.
