Dentist

Dr Gwyn Thompson

Gwyn graduated from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, in 2001 with a BDS with Commendation.

She has invaluable experience in all areas of dentistry, having worked in both private practice and the hospital service in the UK, where she administered and treated patients under sedation. Gwyn enjoys helping anxious patients and keeps up to date with evidence based dentistry.

Away from the practice Gwyn is an avid cyclist and enjoys exploring the trails in Hawkes Bay. She emigrated from Scotland to New Zealand with her husband Dave (who is also a dentist at Lumino Napier) in 2014 and their two young children. They are all thoroughly enjoying all New Zealand has to offer.

Dr David Thompson

Dave graduated from the University of Glasgow in Scotland with a BDS in 1997.

Before joining Lumino, Dave worked in private practice in the UK building up a wealth of experience. He enjoys being able to provide all aspects of general dentistry.

When not at the practice Dave enjoys swimming and cycling as well as being a keen follower of rugby and soccer.

Dave emigrated from Scotland in 2014 to New Zealand with his wife Gwyn (who is also a dentist at Lumino Napier) and their two young children. They are all loving the Kiwi lifestyle- especially the fantastic…

Hygienist

Lucy Cabot

Lucy Cabot has a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health from AUT, as well as Bachelor of Biomedical Science from the University of Otago and a Graduate Diploma in Science from Massey University.
 
Lucy is passionate about educating the patients on the importance of good oral hygiene and empowering them to achieve good oral health. She’d like to be able to alleviate the pain and fear often associated with dental clinics and make a dental visit a positive experience.
 
Outside of the practice, Lucy enjoys playing hockey and tennis. She also enjoys reading.
