Meet Our Team

Ben graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1997. He spent two years working in Dunedin and then Christchurch hospital after graduation before heading to work in London. After nine years away from Christchurch practicing dentistry in London and Auckland, Ben returned home to Christchurch in 2007, having just completed his Fellowship in Sydney, Australia.

Ben has been on the Lumino clinical board since 2011 and is an active member of the NZ Dental Association and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Ben has always strived to achieve excellence in his work and stay at the forefront of technical advancements in dentistry. He performs general and cosmetic dentistry using the latest equipment, materials and methods including digital scanning and digital smile design. He is driven to give his patients the best care and experience possible. He regularly attends lectures and courses from minimal intervention to advanced procedures such as root canal therapy and Implant restoration.

Ben has an interest in reconstructing worn mouths and the prevention of dental disease. He enjoys developing and implementing a long term plan which future proofs someone’s mouth, with the goal of leaving the patient in a maintenance program with peace of mind that their teeth are disease-free and optimally restored.

Ben grew up on a farm in North Canterbury and brings exceptional skills, experience and clear no-fuss communication to the team. Outside of dentistry Ben has a passion for health and fitness and can either be found at the gym, spending time with his young family or thinking about going back to the gym.

Fionnuala graduated from University College Cork in Ireland with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2010. In 2011 she gained an MFDS from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, Glasgow.

After graduating, Fionnuala worked in Australia, the Torres Strait Islands and spent several years in the North East of England working in both an Oral Surgery and a Facial Trauma Department. A move to New Zealand in 2017 brought her to Wellington where she worked in a busy city practice until her recent move to Christchurch. 

Fionnuala’s area of expertise is difficult extractions, including wisdom teeth, and treating nervous patients with IV sedation. She is passionate about working with patients to help them feel comfortable and empowered about their dental treatment. After training through the Global Institute for Dental Education in Los Angeles, she also provides dental implant treatment for patients who have missing teeth. 

Outside of work Fionnuala and her husband are keen trail runners and will no doubt be kept very busy with all that the South Island has to offer.

Andrew graduated in 2014 from Kings College in London. He also has a medical degree and worked for several years as a doctor in hospital.

Andrew's dental interests include composite bonding, aesthetics and Invisalign Go.

He enjoys creating a relaxed clinical environment that enables patients to feel that they are listened to, cared for and feel comfortable to undertake the care that they require if they have struggled with dental anxiety.

Andrew enjoys that his work provides the opportunity to develop relationships with people that can last decades and to support and care for them during this period.

Outside of the practice, he enjoys being outdoors with his family and has particular interests in surfing, photography, hiking, fishing and rock climbing.

His favourite place to be is at the beach on a nice sunny day with my family or up a cliff or mountain face with close friends.

Dr Lois Neville graduated from the University of Liverpool, UK with a BDS in 2015. Upon qualifying, she practiced in London, treating a wide variety of dental problems in general practice.

Dr Lois moved to Christchurch in 2018 and is pleased to have her patients visiting regularly. She has a warm, gentle manner and strives to help uneasy patients become more comfortable in attending for treatment, with a strong focus on prevention education.

Dr Lois has developed a particular interest in Orthodontic treatment with clear aligners. She recently obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma in Digital Orthodontics (PGDIP Dig Orth) taught by a Specialist Orthodontist. She treats teen and adult patients, achieving functional, beautiful smiles using Spark and Invisalign aligners.

Using the latest digital technology, Dr Lois will design smiles specifically to each individual and can provide a “test drive smile” to ensure the end result ticks all of their boxes. Restorative treatments such as veneers, composite and crowns can be used alone or in combination with Orthodontics to help patients get the smile they have always wanted. Lois has embraced the beautiful outdoors of New Zealand, from all things boating in summer, to skiing the mountains in winter and taking her young dog Sadie on trails around the South Island.

Anjli graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago in 2022 to pursue a career as an Oral Health Therapist.

Anjli grew up in Wellington, studied in Dunedin and is now working in Christchurch because of her passion for travelling, meeting new people and learning about the health demographics all over Aotearoa. Living in such a diverse country, she is committed to providing individualized care and thoroughly enjoys the aspect of educating her patients in a holistic manner to help empower them with their oral health. She believes it is immensely rewarding when a patient overcomes a challenge they may be facing, physical or emotional, with their oral health and to see the change in their demeanor as they grow more confident in themselves.

Anjli has a love for food and spends her spare time baking, if not exploring new food places. She also loves a good road trip and is excited to venture Christchurch and more of the beautiful South Island.

Danya graduated with a Bachelor of Oral Health from the University of Otago in 2023.

As a dental professional, Danya is most interested in ensuring all of her patients have the knowledge and skill required to maintain good oral health.

Danya truly enjoys helping others manage their health and have the best smile possible. Her main goal would be for patients to walk out after an appointment feeling as though they had learned something and feel better about their smile. Danya loves seeing the difference before and after treatments, and especially showing this to her patients and watching them light up.

Outside of the practice, Danya's favourite activity is being in the gym lifting weights, closely followed by taking her partner out ice skating. Her favourite place to be is anywhere where she can relax with a pleasant candle. A fun fact about Danya is that she has her motorcycle license.
