George Hunt Andy Middlemiss
Lead Dentist

Dr Andrew Middlemiss

Dr Andrew Middlemiss graduated with a BDS from The University of Otago in 2001. He has spent the last 10 years practising dentistry in London.

His primary clinical interests include minimally invasive dentistry, Invisalign orthodontics and additive composite bonding.

Andrew says he enjoys working with patients to create beautiful, natural smiles.

While practicing in London Andrew was a member of the BACD. (British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry).  He is continuing his professional development which centres around Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry. He has attended Chris Orr's Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry programme as well as participating in Pankey mentoring. 

Outside of the practice, Andrew enjoys travelling, snowboarding and spending time with his young family.

Dentist

Dr Irene Swartz

Irene graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1994. She then attended the University of Minnesota for the Advanced General Dentistry Program and the Geriatric Dentistry Fellowship Program from 1996 to 1999. Irene finds family dentistry very enjoyable and takes challenge in doing complex rehabilitation for patients that have more extensive needs. She also enjoys doing cosmetic dentistry, taking care to always start with a conservative approach. Irene takes great pride in being meticulous with her craft, a trait her patients recognize and appreciate.

In her spare time Irene enjoys cooking, gardening, hiking and being a mum to her little daughter.

Courtenay Place Joo Leem
Dentist

Dr Joo Leem

After completing a Biomedical Science degree at the University of Auckland, Joo realised that actually dentistry was her calling and graduated with her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago. 

Prior to starting at Lumino, Joo worked at Wellington Hospital for two years, then moved to sunny Hawke's Bay to take on a role as a Dental/Maxillofacial house surgeon where she provided treatment for medically complex patients and trauma patients. 

Joo is interested in minimal intervention dentistry, where focus is on a preventive approach.  Her main goals include working together with her patients to achieve optimum dental health…

Outside of the practice, Joo has a variety of hobbies including learning Spanish, pottery, drawing, snowboarding and working out at the gym. She thoroughly enjoyed her time in Hawke's Bay but is very excited to return to Wellington and all it has to offer!

George Hunt Louisa
Dentist

Dr Louisa Leathart

Louisa joined the George Hunt Dental team in 2014 after having worked as a Dental House Surgeon at Hutt Valley Hospital.

She enjoys all aspects of General Dentistry and takes pride in delivering high-quality treatment with up to date methods and technology to all her patients. Clinically, Louisa has a particular interest in Oral Surgery and is qualified to perform procedures under IV sedation. She is also a member of the New Zealand Society for Sedation in Dentistry.

In her spare time, Louisa enjoys socialising, cycling and running.

Gala Harper-van Ommen

Gala graduated from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 2016 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health (BHScOH).

Gala started off as a dental assistant before moving into dental technology and then finally to oral health therapy. Since graduating, she has been working in Melbourne and London and recently moved back to her hometown of Wellington

Hygienist

Marinette Alamani

Marinette Alamani is a very experienced and sought-after dental hygienist. Marinette graduated in 1987 as a Doctor of Dental Medicine in Manila, Philippines and was .part of the Karen Harris Dental team before they joined Lumino.

She enjoys building a relationship with patients which is vital to educating them and gaining their trust. Her dental interests include informing patients of good oral health care and running a more effective and efficient hygiene department. Marinette also keeps her skills up to date by continuously attending education programs, seminars and conferences.

Hygienist

Annie Sirikhanchai

Annie graduated from University of Otago with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2015. She has a firm belief that study never stops for health professionals and continues to keep up with new dental research and regularly attends Continuing Professional Development conferences.  Annie is very passionate about increasing awareness around the link between oral health and general health for her patients. 

Outside of the practice, Annie loves to keep fit, and make the most of what Wellington has to offer with its wide variety of great cuisine.
