Who we are

Lumino The Dentists Whitianga is situated in one on the most beautiful beach towns in New Zealand. Whitianga is in the Mercury Bay region, the home of the world-renowned Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach.

Our dental practice is situated a few steps from the harbour and Mercury Bay Marina and is a short walk and ferry ride to Ferry Landing. As soon as you walk through our doors, our patients can feel like they are sitting in their lounge at home, not a cold sterile dental surgery - a place where you can leave the stresses of city life behind. We pride ourselves on our friendly, professional staff, who are extremely gentle in their approach.

Being a beach town and holiday destination for all New Zealanders & tourists, Whitianga is the buzz of the Coromandel Peninsula. It is the place where you can do a little or a lot. The pace of life can be as busy or as calm as you choose. It’s where people smile and say “hello” when you walk down the street.

No traffic lights, no peak hour traffic, no city hustle and bustle. There is just you and your imaginings. Our dental practice reflects this feel of the town. Lumino The Dentists Whitianga provides dental treatment for the local population, and for every one that visits our town from the top of the Coromandel Peninsula to as far as the Waikato area and beyond! We all love our job and appreciate having wonderful patients that make our days enjoyable.

This was my first visit to Lumino Whitianga, I found all the staff friendly and welcoming. I was very happy with the service I received and would recommend this practice to anyone needing a dentist.

– Paulina M - Lumino Whitianga Patient, July 2021

The man who performed my dental check-up was awesome! I was feeling anxious about my visit, but he was so gentle and understanding, I felt comfortable right away. And his lovely assistant was so friendly and nice, too!

– Tala B - Lumino Whitianga Patient, June 2021

I just love this dentist's office, the staff are wonderful and Sergei is a fantastic dentist. I have a phobia about the dentist, but he and his lovely wife and nurse made me feel comfortable. Thank you, I would highly recommend this practice to anyone.

– Ursula W - Lumino Whitianga Patient, June 2021

My dentist and his assistant are absolutely amazing. Strangely enough. I look forward to coming to the dentist so I can see them. My dentist and his assistant are professional, warm, and clearly masters of their craft. My work isn't done yet, and I already feel more beautiful and my family is noticing a difference with my smile too. Thanks, team. I also appreciate the cancellation list and support to get me in as much as possible before I'm due to have my Baby! Great service.

– Penelope H - Lumino Whitianga Patient, March 2021

I recently visited Serguei Antipenko at Lumino Whitianga to have a tooth pulled which had been giving me grief for some time. I was rather nervous prior to the procedure but Serguei and his assistant showed the utmost professionalism in putting my fears to rest and were very accommodating with my anxiety. I was not the easiest patient however they were always empathetic and took their time to make me feel at ease. Overall I just want to thank both Serguei and his assistant for their amazing service and would highly recommend them to anyone.

– Marga M - Lumino Whitianga Patient, Jan 2021

The hygienist was very communicative and talked me through the process before ploughing in! Made every effort to ensure it was not too much of a painful experience!

– Jackie B - Lumino Whitianga Patient, Dec 2020

Very pleased with the whole Whitianga team who took me at short notice following a cancellation. The receptionist Amber was very pleasant and an excellent front person - Serguei and his nurse did a great job fixing my broken tooth - I'm very grateful. This was my first Whiti Lumino experience after 22 years being looked after by Ken Taylor at Remuera and they are just as good as the Remuera team who set a high standard!!

– Malcolm T - Lumino Whitianga Patient, November 2020
