What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?
I enjoy getting to know people as well as helping them. I have had exposure to the industry from a very young age given that my mother is a dentist. Because of this, I have never experienced the same fear of the dentist that a lot of people have. It is my goal to make everyone as comfortable as they can in this environment.
How long have you been practising dentistry?
Over a year.
Tell us about your career background.
I worked as a house officer at Waikato Hospital for the maxillofacial and dental departments. I gained a lot of experience working in this busy, fast paced environment, particularly with infections and trauma.
What is your most memorable case to date?
Spending an entire on-call night in theatre following a trauma was hard to forget
What do you love most about your job?
Having the opportunity to help others so they can feel more confident. I enjoy taking the time to explain what the most ideal treatment plan is and working together to achieve their goals.
What are your special interests in dentistry?
Relief of pain and oral surgery
What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?
Oral health begins before you are in pain
Where would we find you outside of the practice?
At home cooking, baking, playing board games or travelling somewhere!
