What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?
I always knew that Dentistry as a career would suit my personality. Attention to detail, practical work with my hands and working to serve the public makes it a very rewarding job.
How long have you been practising dentistry?
3 years.
Tell us about your career background?
I graduated in 2019 and have been working in general practice, oral and maxillofacial surgery as well as restorative dental core training posts since then.
What is your most memorable case to date?
There was a case where a young patient suffered from extreme dental anxiety and severe toothwear as well – it was so satisfying going along his patient journey with him to reduce anxiety where possible, focus on patient education to reduce risk factors and ultimately provide treatment in the form of composite buildups. Seeing the before and after photos was a big moment for the patient and it was great to witness.
What do you love most about your job?
Helping patients achieve their own oral health goals and see their faces light up.
What are your special interests in dentistry?
Minimally invasive dentistry, prevention, management of tooth wear and oral surgery.
What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?
Prevention is everything.
Where would we find you outside of the practice?
In the sea!
