Andrew is an experienced dentist, highly regarded in the Greater Wellington area. “You are what you chew” is his war cry. He’s passionate about how you feel about your teeth, mouth, and smile, and won’t rest until your immaculate oral health puts a skip in your stride.
Andrew revels in applying highly technical science to everyday dentistry, whether it’s doing implants or cosmetic makeovers, children’s dentistry or routine care. Andrew revels in applying highly technical science to everyday dentistry, whether it’s doing implants or cosmetic makeovers, children’s dentistry or routine care. He believes a trip to the dentist should be educational (and entertaining). He’s quick to share dental nerd insights gleaned from the countless conferences he attends, and more than likely has an amusing anecdote or cheeky turn of phrase to accompany it.
Andrew is interested in full mouth dental implant rehabilitation as well, having used the Straumann “Pro Arch” concept, and the Nobel Biocare “all on four” concept successfully with many of his patients.
When he’s not working on raising the average calibre of Wellington’s smiles, Andrew loves to apply his steady hand in the kitchen, or apply his giant brain in a quiz. If you ever find yourself at quiz night on an opposing team to Andrew’s, you’re in trouble. His general knowledge is limitless and if the topic ‘Puns and Dad Jokes’ comes up, pack your bags.
Andrew recently joined other Lumino dentists in a rural community dental initiative, where Lumino the Dentist had partnered with the Ngāti Pahauwera Development Trust in Wairoa to provide dental services to those that can’t afford it. Jareth met his wife, Michelle, who is also a dentist, while they were working together in Whanganui.
Towards the end of their time in Whanganui, Jareth and Michelle felt ready for a new adventure. They said their goodbyes and set out to backpack around the world in 2019. After a year of travelling, they returned home in January 2020; just in time before Covid changed the world as we know it! Jareth was at Coastlands Lumino from 2020-2023, and shared the Lead Dentist role with Michelle, until he was offered the opportunity to join the team at Burton and Brown Lumino.
Outside of dentistry, Jareth absolutely loves travel, sport, and animals. On their travels, he and Michelle tried to see as much of the great outdoors as they could; from animals migrating across Africa, to the national parks of North America, and the rainforests of Brazil. They attended some pretty memorable sports matches as well like South American and European football matches and the Boxing Day test match in Melbourne. However, nothing gives him more satisfaction than being a dentist and taking care of people. He looks forward to meeting patients, giving them a great dental experience and providing life-changing dental care!

Michele’s presence at the clinic is like a set of invisible braces that holds it all together, keeping us perfectly aligned, performing, and smiling brightly. She has been overseeing the general running of the practice, managing our front of house staff, warmly welcoming our patients and answering their questions since 1995 and we couldn’t be happier about it.
She is the perfect person for the job as she can relate to people of all ages and backgrounds and never forgets a face. Being able to balance humour and professionalism is clearly something we’re subconsciously recruiting for, as Michele is another…

A country girl at heart, Michele spends many of her weekends happily lending her father a hand on the farm where she was raised. In the summer though, she can’t wait to be out on the boat with her husband, barbequing and jumping from boat to boat to visit buddies who are anchored alongside.
