Alani Bartle graduated with a Bachelor of Dentistry with Excellence from the University of Pretoria, South Africa, in 2002. She was awarded academic honorary colours and received the clinical prize for Excellence in Periodontology.
Over the following 17 years, Alani practised dentistry in Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Rustenburg. During this time, she developed a strong interest in all aspects of cosmetic dentistry, including composite and ceramic restorations, as well as orthodontics. She is deeply committed to ongoing professional development and continually upskills to stay current with the latest techniques and rapidly evolving dental technologies.
After immigrating to New Zealand in July 2019, Alani settled in Hamilton with her husband and two daughters. She joined the Lumino Chartwell team in 2021 and has gained extensive New Zealand experience since 2019.
At Lumino Chartwell, Alani enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular focus on gentle, patient-centred care. She strives to minimise discomfort while delivering high-quality, long-lasting dental treatments, and believes strongly in empowering patients to take an active role in achieving optimal oral health.
Alani has a special passion for aesthetic dentistry and orthodontics and enjoys the artistry involved in creating beautiful, natural-looking smiles.
Outside of dentistry, Alani enjoys spending quality time with her husband and daughters, exploring and appreciating the natural beauty of New Zealand together.

Manu is a registered Oral Health Therapist, graduated from AUT in 2024. He previously trained and worked as a dentist in India, which provided him with a strong clinical foundation and a broad understanding of patient care. He also holds a qualification in Business Management in New Zealand (2012) and has several years of management experience in a leading retail organisation. This background has helped Manu develop strong communication, organisation, and teamwork skills, which he brings into his clinical practice.

Manu has a strong interest in therapy for children and adolescents, with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and creating positive dental experiences. He enjoys building rapport with younger patients and supporting them in developing lifelong oral health habits.

Manu aims to continue developing his clinical skills while building strong, trusting relationships with patients. He is committed to delivering high-quality, prevention-focused care and creating a positive experience for every patient. In the long term, Manu strives to become a well-rounded clinician known for both clinical excellence and patient-centred care.

Manu values the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients’ lives—whether it’s improving their oral health, building their confidence, or helping them feel comfortable in the dental environment. He particularly enjoys working with children and adolescents and seeing their progress over time.

Outside of work, Manu enjoys spending time outdoors on walks and cooking at home.Manu has transitioned across three different career paths—dentistry, business management, and oral health therapy—which has given him a unique perspective, adaptability, and strong people skills in both clinical and team environments.
