Dr Kylie Kelvin recently joined our Lumino Knox & Pitt Street practices and we're thrilled to have her on board.
What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?
My aunt who studied dentistry in Dunedin in 1999 inspired me. She loved her job and I wanted to make people smile like she did!
How long have you been practising dentistry?
Over a year.
Tell us about your career background?
I graduated in 2021 with a BDS. Prior to studying dentistry, I completed two other degrees in human nutrition and neuro science.
What is your most memorable case to date?
13-33 composite veneer case - my patient cried and hugged me saying he can smile to his kids now!
What do you love most about your job?
Giving people a chance to smile again.
What are your special interests in dentistry?
Restorative and esthetic dentistry.
What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?
You're never too late to start now.
Where would we find you outside of the practice?
Going road-tripping and taking pictures of nature while trying to improve my photography skills.
