Earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University in 2013 after completing a Biomedical Science degree at Auckland. With hospital experience treating complex cases at Wellington Hospital and Hawke’s Bay, she brings a confident, comprehensive approach. Joo specialises in minimal intervention dentistry, focusing on prevention and personalised care to help patients build lasting oral health habits.

Dr. Tina Patu graduated from Otago University in 2023 and gained valuable hospital experience at Samoa’s National Hospital. Now part of the Lumino team in Wellington, she provides patient-focused care with special interests in oral surgery, periodontics, and endodontics. Tina is dedicated to educating patients and creating a warm, inclusive environment, speaking both English and Samoan.

Dr Ben Guest joined Lumino The Dentists in 2021 and was awarded Best Young Dentist in 2024. He is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry, from oral surgery to cosmetic treatments, and values the connection between oral and overall health. An active member of the New Zealand Dental Association, Dr Guest is committed to staying up to date with modern dental techniques. He focuses on empowering patients and involving them in treatment decisions and is currently accepting new patients.

A proud Wellington local, Dr Durney began his career as a House Surgeon at Wellington Hospital before joining the team at Lumino The Terrace. Working alongside Dr Andrew Middlemiss, he provides personalised, holistic care with a focus on treating the whole person—not just their teeth. Approachable and dedicated, Dr Durney is passionate about helping patients achieve optimal oral health and is currently accepting new patients.

Dr Emily Yeo graduated with Distinction in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago. She is passionate about all areas of dentistry, with a special interest in oral surgery, including surgical and wisdom tooth extractions. Offering oral sedation to ensure patient comfort, Dr Yeo believes that building genuine rapport is at the heart of great dentistry.
