Dr John’s special interests include cosmetic dentistry (crowns and porcelain and composite veneers), gum health(Periodontics and laser assisted periodontal treatment), dental implants, Invisalign (invisible braces), and the restoration of worn teeth and mouth. He is also passionate about the safe removal of mercury amalgam fillings.
He is particularly interested in full mouth dental implant rehabilitation as well, having used the the Straumann “Pro Arch” concept, “new teeth in a day” and the Nobel Biocare “all on four” concept successfully with many of his patients.
John also does a lot of dental charity work, especially enjoying doing free dentistry for the homeless at the DCM centre in Taranaki St in Wellington, and also in Wairoa for the Ngati Pauawera Development trust.
When he isn’t on his dental chair, he is likely outdoors – bush-bashing with his two dogs, skiing in New Zealand or Japan, surfing, windsurfing, biking or doing yoga. (Or even at a concert)
