Meet Our Team

Dr Jaco Vorster joins Lumino from South Africa, where he graduated in 2009. 

He has a special interest in Endodontics, Crown and Bridge work. His main clinical goals include giving quality dentistry to patients as well as incorporating modern day techniques to give long lasting results. Dr Jaco also does Invisalign - a procedure that corrects and straightens teeth (mush like 'invisible braces' as they call it).

He is planning to further his studies and says he is always willing to push himself as much as he can. 

Jaco says he loves meeting new people and being able to connect with patients, not just in a professional but also a social manner.

His favourite place to be is on a secluded beach on a warm sunny day (with a cold drink in hand) and with his wife and son by his side!

Dr Rebecca Dimock, more commonly known as Becky by patients and friends alike graduated from Otago University in 2012 with a bachelor’s in dental surgery (BDS) with distinction. Becky grew up in the Wairarapa attending both primary and secondary school here before leaving for Dunedin to further her studies. She gained both knowledge and experience in general dentistry working in private practice in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty since graduating. Becky is now looking forward to settling back into her hometown, closer to family, and being able to provide oral health care to the people of the Wairarapa.

Becky strives to create a welcoming environment for her patients and aims to not only provide the best care she can but also educate patients on what options are available to them. She believes that having a good understanding of the pros and cons of treatment options allows patients to take control and play an active role in addressing their oral health care concerns as well as easing some of their anxieties around receiving care.

Becky has a special interest in aesthetic composite filling as well as new dental technologies such as laser dentistry.

In her free time Becky enjoys watercolour painting, hiking, working on her parent’s homestead with her husband and when she can, traveling to new places.

Suzanne graduated with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1997.

Her dental interests include prevention & managing periodontal disease.

Suzanne is always reading dental journals/articles, watching webinars and attending dental courses to keep up to date.

Her work goals include maintaining excellence & professional integrity in her job. She enjoys interacting with people and patients and helping them achieve and maintain optimum oral health.

Suzanne decided to join Lumino as a workplace after she met Lead Dentist, Jaco & Practice Manager, Trish.

Suzanne left South Africa in 2003 to live and work in the United Arab Emirates. She lived and worked there for about 12 years, working in both Government and private clinics. Seh met her husband in Dubai and both my children were born there.

Outside of the practice, Suzanne enjoys spending time with her family, cycling, or going to the beach. She is passionate about nature & helping others, and couldn't live without her family, friends and coffee.

Steve graduated from the University of Otago with a BDenTech and PGDipClinDenTech.

As a dental technician, Steve's main dental interests are full and partial dentures and Digital Dentistry. The main goal that Steve wants to accomplish in his work is to provide alternative solutions to patients for their dental needs while focusing on maintaining as much natural dentition as is practical. Steve enjoys helping people get their smiles and confidence back.

Outside of the practice, Steve spends his time training for triathlon, swimming, biking, and running. He also likes tinkering with anything technology-related. He enjoys biking, both road and mountain biking. He also enjoys the lovely scenery in New Zealand, especially in the Wairarapa. Steve grew up in Africa, and moved to New Zealand when he was in High School.
