Piet graduated in 1996 from Stellenbosch University in South Africa with a BChD and subsequently gained a PDD in 2002.
His particular areas of interest are endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, crowns and bridges and also intravenous sedation. He joined Lumino in March 2012 and loves "working with the most fantastic team in the world"!
Outside of the practice Piet likes the ocean - surfing, diving, fishing - and is also a keen snowboarder.
Ginal has been a valued member of Lumino Orewa since 1999. She graduated from the University of Otago in 1998 and has continued to grow her expertise with further postgraduate dental training from the renowned Kois Center in Seattle, as well as achieving Mastership certification from Digital Smile Design in Madrid.
Ginal is also an accredited Invisalign provider with a special focus on adult orthodontics. In 2019, she was honoured by Dentsply Sirona with the Global Smart Integration Award in Heidelberg, Germany, recognising her leadership in ‘digital workflows and for providing innovative dental care that shapes the future of dentistry’.
Passionate about creating life-changing smiles, Ginal takes a thoughtful and artistic ‘outside-in’ approach to give a confident smile that suits the face, lips and personality of the person. Her combination of Invisalign with veneers, crowns, bridges, or implants strives for results that are conservative yet beautifully natural.
Outside of dentistry, Ginal loves to hike, travel the world, read self-growth books and meditate on life’s deeper questions.

Pawan is the Lead Dentist at Advanced Dental, Manurewa. He graduated from University in New Delhi with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1989 and Fellowship (ICOI) in 2007.
Being the leader of a team and meeting different clients is what Pawan enjoys most about his job. Pawan has a special interest in surgical and implant dentistry and is furthering his studies by attending short courses and conferences. Pawan also provides ACC covered implants.
Outside of the practice Pawan likes to read books, watch movies, play golf, spend time with his family and coach a cricket team.
Michelle completed her Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Otago. Her family has roots in Malaysia but New Zealand has been home for over 20 years. After working all over the North Island, Michelle has returned back to Auckland where she was brought up and raised.
Michelle enjoys dentistry as a craft that combines aspects of science and health, architecture and artistry, as well as sociology. She takes pride in creating environments that facilitate the restoration of her patient's oral health and takes joy in the ability to restore her patients' self-confidence to smile again.

Jen graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a BHSc Oral Health (Dental Hygiene and Therapy) in 2011.
Jen enjoys meeting new people and being able to educate them to help them live a healthier life. She likes to keep up to date on new research, especially to do with diet and disease processes, and likes to have a laugh during appointments. She believes herself to be great with nervous and sensitive patients and kids.
What's more, Jen also holds a Diploma in Tertiary teaching.
Outside of work hours, Jen enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her family.
Nidhi Vyas is a trained Oral Health Therapist and Orthodontic Auxiliary.
Outside of the practice she enjoys playing the violin, tramping, trekking and painting.
Jackie has been at The Smile Studio since 2005. She enjoys working with a great team in a busy practice, offering a wide range of services while ensuring our patients feel welcome and have a positive dental experience.
She also likes the challenge of helping nervous patients feel comfortable about getting dental treatment.
Outside of the practice, Jackie especially enjoys all things summer, walking along the many beautiful Hibiscus Coast beaches and relaxing with friends and family.
