What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?
I have always had a fascination for both art and science, and a passion to help others. I was fortunate enough to get into Otago Dental School in 2015, and dentistry has become a great combination of all these things for me. I continue to enjoy it more every day.
How long have you been practising dentistry?
I have been practicing since graduation in 2019, from the University of Otago.
Tell us about your career background.
I spent my first 2 years working at Christchurch Public Hospital, working alongside some incredibly talented dentists and maxillofacial surgeons. After picking up some invaluable skills, I moved on to general dental practice.
What do you love most about your job?
I love working with patients and their anxieties around the dentist. It's most rewarding to see their trust and confidence build through delivering high quality dentistry that really caters to their needs.
What are your special interests in dentistry?
I'm a sucker for any good challenge, but my bias is toward oral surgery and aesthetic and biomimetic dentistry.
What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?
If you have a dental problem get it checked! It can be the difference between receiving some helpful preventative advice or losing a tooth.
Where would we find you outside of the practice?
Either in a cafe or up a mountainside.
Been a while since your last dentist visit? Want to get your best smile? With our $69 Check-Up you can get sorted without the stress.
