Originally from South Africa, Charmaine has been practising dentistry for over 9 years. She started her dental career in 1998 as a dental assistant in the United Kingdom. Charmaine decided to become a dentist during a two-year working holiday in London. She ended up working for a dentist as his assistant and immediately knew that she wanted to be on the other side of the dental chair.
"I started as a dental assistant. I then became an oral hygienist for 4 years and decided at the age of 30 to finally decided to study dentistry. I have been running my own practice for the last 9 years."
Charmine loves being able to make a difference in people's lives. Whether it is creating a beautiful smile or relieving a patient’s pain.
She enjoys the entire scope dentistry offers, but has a special interest in aesthetic and paediatric dentistry.
"I love the difference a beautiful smile can make to people’s self-esteem. As a mother of three girls, I understand the needs of young children and they tend to connect very well with me."

Charmaine's main piece of advice to her patients is 'A healthy smile starts at home'.
Outside of the practice you will mostly find Charmaine outdoors wherever the adventure takes her and her family. She loves spending time with her husband and 3 daughters, and, if possible, mountain biking, running, camping and hiking in the great outdoors. She also loves good food, wine and entertaining friends.
