Tony and the rest of the Ponsonby Dentist team joined the Lumino group in October 2012. Teeth whitening is a big part of the clinic with a dedicated ‘Whitening Spa’. Whitening teeth is a relatively cheap and effective way of improving the look of your teeth and is the first step in more involved dental makeovers. Aesthetic cases are Tony’s main area of interest, composite and porcelain veneers and such-like but he also has 10 years of surgical experience.

Tony recently partook in an initiative, where Lumino The Dentist had partnered with the Ngāti Pahauwera Development Trust in Wairoa to provide dental services to those that can’t afford it. Read more about this community initiative in the Hawkes Bay Today here.

Aftab has chosen to undertake further studies and says it is important to him to remain at the cutting edge of research and technology in the field, both from a patient experience and a clinical delivery point of view.

Outside of the practice, Aftab likes to travel – anywhere and everywhere, mostly to places others wouldn't consider safe or on the usual tourist handbooks. He is a talented linguist, speaking five languages.
