Stephen graduated with a BDS from The University of Otago in 1992 and has been at Wairau Park Dental since 1993. Outside of the practice Stephen enjoys fishing and tennis as well as spending time with his wife and two young daughters.
Sonika graduated from the University of Leeds in 2005 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. She is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
She enjoys building a relationship and trust with her patients and making them happy. She solves their dental issues in a gentle, pleasant and professional manner.
Sonika is interested in all aspect of dentistry and always likes to keep up to date with the latest developments. She has particular interest in IV Sedation to help nervous patients.
Having recently moved to New Zealand Soinka and her Fiancé enjoy exploring the country, enjoying the weather (compared to the UK) and she has taken up upholstery and pottery.
Betty Graduated from the University of Otago in 1985 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and in 1995 with a Masters of Dental Surgery (Restorative Dentistry).
Betty has practised in NZ, Singapore and U.K and also speaks Cantonese.
Outside of work travel is her passion as well as her grandchildren in small doses.
Sally graduated from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 2022 as an Oral Health Therapist.
Sally is very friendly and approachable and is actually very gentle, which is helpful for patients who are feeling anxious about getting treatment.
Sally can speak fluent Koren and enjoys spending time with family and friends in her downtime.
Abdullah graduated in 2022 from Auckland University of Technology. Abdullah began his career in private practice in Auckland as soon as he graduated which allowed him to quickly gain experience mainly in the hygiene scope with some exposure to therapy from time to time. In addition to gaining experience at a fixed practice, Abdullah had the opportunity to work on mobile clinics visiting many high schools all around the central North Island which allowed him to work with patients of many diverse backgrounds each with their own specific needs regarding oral health.

In addition to gaining experience at a fixed practice, Abdullah had the opportunity to work on mobile clinics visiting many high schools all around the central North Island which allowed him to work with patients of many diverse backgrounds each with their own specific needs regarding oral health.
Abdullah knew he wanted to be an oral health therapist after volunteering at a friend’s dental clinic a few times. The thing he loves most about his job is being able to make a positive difference in people’s oral health. He loves the feeling of knowing that a person’s quality of life has improved after his contribution towards improving their oral health. At this early stage of his career, Abdullah likes all aspects of the oral health therapist scopes however slowly leaning towards hygiene.
The one piece of advice that Abdullah always gives his patients is the importance of keeping up with a good homecare plan to maintain excellent oral health as well as regularly visiting the hygienist.
Outside the practice, you’ll most likely find Abdullah spending time with family, playing sports such as basketball, or at the gym working out, and occasionally, he will buy some LEGO race car sets and put them together.
As a dedicated Lumino team member since 2003, Sheryl enjoys a team environment, providing a comfortable, reassuring space allowing meaningful interactions and to provide the utmost care to our patients.
Outside the clinic, Sheryl cherishes time spent with her family, peaceful walks in the park or an adventurous trek in the outdoors, however the beach is her sanctuary, a place to recharge.
