Dr Shaun Du Preez has recently joined the team at Lumino Masterton and brings his experience in endodontics and maxillofacial radiography.
What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?
My interests were technology and my parents wished me to go into the medical field, so dentistry worked.
How long have you been practising dentistry?
Since 2013.
Tell us about your career background?
I have completed a Diploma in Maxillofacial Radiology and I’m currently busy with another diploma in Endodontics. I have given a hands-on course for Sirona SA on the subject of CBCT.
What is your most memorable case to date?
My very first clear aligner case printed on my own 3D printer.
What do you love most about your job?
The technology of course.
What are your special interests in dentistry?
Endodontics, 3D printing, Digital planning.
What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?
Don’t be scared to come for check-ups – Prevention is cheaper than cure.
Where would we find you outside of the practice?
Mountain biking, hiking, driving or travelling around NZ in my car with my wife.
