From The Dentist's Mouth - Dr Jaedan Naganathan

Dr Jaedan Naganathan joins our Lumino Ponsonby team after relocating from the UK.

What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?

Growing up, I was always interested in the medical field, but dentistry’s artistic nature is what really drew me into the field. Dentistry is also a field where one can make a tangible improvement to a person’s quality of life through a hands-on approach.

How long have you been practising dentistry?

I have been a practicing dentist for 5 years within a year spent working as a Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon specialising in head & neck trauma as well as complicated teeth extractions. I have also spent 2 years teaching Oral Surgery to undergraduate dental students.

What are your special interests in dentistry?
I really enjoy both restorative and surgical aspects of dentistry including complicated teeth extractions.

What is your main piece of advice to your patients?
Prevention is key! Good oral hygiene habits can help you steer clear of a number of dental issues.

Where would we find you outside of the practice?
In record shops hunting for new & old music!
