From The Dentist's Mouth - Dr Samuel Loi

Dr Samuel Loi joins our Lumino Ferrymead team after relocating from Hamilton.

What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?

My interest in studying dentistry was sparked during my one-and-a-half-year experience with braces. The hands-on nature of the work, combined with my fascination for biology, provided a solid foundation for pursuing a career in dentistry.

How long have you been practising dentistry?

I have been practicing dentistry for two years.

Tell us about your career background.

I began my career in Hamilton after graduating, gaining valuable experience in both emergency and family dentistry. These diverse experiences have contributed to my growth as a professional, preparing me for a variety of clinical scenarios.

What do you love most about your job?

What I love most about my job is the opportunity to meet new people and leave a positive impact on their lives.

What are your special interests in dentistry?

At this stage in my career, I am enjoying all aspects of dentistry.

What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?

I always emphasize the importance of brushing and flossing twice a day. Following this simple routine can significantly contribute to maintaining good oral health.

Where would we find you outside of the practice?

Outside of the practice, you'll likely find me playing sports such as badminton and ultimate frisbee or satisfying my love for travel.
