Jareth was born in Wellington and attended Newlands College before going to dental school at the University of Otago. He graduated in 2012 with his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Distinction).
He worked in Whanganui right out of dental school where he spent six years at a great practice and met his fiancée, Michelle. Jareth loved the work environment where he was mentored in the latest dental techniques and technology. He enjoyed the opportunity to provide a great standard of dental care in a tight-knit community, very similar to Paraparaumu and the Kapiti Coast.

He enjoyed the opportunity to provide a great standard of dental care in a tight-knit community, very similar to Paraparaumu and the Kapiti Coast.
Towards the end of their time in Whanganui, Jareth and Michelle felt ready for a new adventure. So, they said their goodbyes and set out to backpack around the world for all of 2019. They returned home to begin their time at Lumino Coastlands in January 2020, just in time before Covid changed the world as we know it!
Outside of dentistry, Jareth absolutely loves sport and animals. On their recent travels, he and Michelle tried to see as much of the great outdoors as they could; from animals migrating across Africa, to the national parks of North America. They attended some pretty memorable sports matches as well like South American and European football matches and the Boxing Day test in Melbourne. However, nothing gives him more satisfaction than being a dentist and taking care of people. He looks forward to meeting patients, giving them a great dental experience and providing life-changing dental care!
Michelle graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Distinction) from the University of Otago in 2014, and was also awarded the Orthodontics Medal. In 2017, she completed a two-year Orthodontics mini-residency in Sydney and has a special interest in braces and Invisalign.
Her first job out of dental school was in private practice in Whanganui. The variety of work required here allowed her to hone her skills in different aspects of dentistry, including fillings, extractions, root canals, crown and bridgework, dentures and orthodontics.

Michelle has always wanted to work in healthcare and started out dreaming of becoming a doctor. Wanting to marry that ambition with her love of art and working with her hands led her to dentistry. Michelle is passionate about helping people receive the dental treatment they need. She understands dental anxiety and phobia are barriers for many people in seeking the treatment they require.
Michelle has loved every day so far as a practising dentist and looks forward to what she hopes to be many more years ahead.
Outside of work Michelle enjoys hiking, reading, painting, and travelling. Michelle and her fiancé, Jareth, backpacked around the world for a year in 2019. They visited over 20 countries and enjoyed exploring the world together.
She is thrilled to join the wonderful team at Lumino Coastlands, and looks forward to seeing you soon!

Abu’s main goal for all his patients is dental stability. Once stable, he would like them to need as little work as possible – prevention is key!
Outside of the practice, Abu is a very keen runner (when not injured!) and road cyclist. You’ll also find him in the gym after work, or playing tennis if the weather is good. He loves the outdoors (a big part of why he has moved to NZ), hiking, camping and kayaking. Abu enjoys cooking and bakes his own bread – olive bread is his speciality!
