Lead Dentist

Dr Holly Christmas

Holly has been practising dentistry for over 14 years and is experienced in general practice, with a particular interest in endodontic (root canal treatments) and preventative, conservative dentistry (drilling into your teeth as little as possible!). She graduated from Otago University in 2003 before moving to Scotland.

Holly loved supervising and working at the Glasgow School of Dentistry, and locuming at various practices in Scotland before returning home to New Zealand and settling in Queenstown in 2008.

In her spare time Holly enjoys biking, skiing, running and jet boating with her family.

Dentist

Dr Judy Sim

Judy was the founder of Frankton Dental in 1993. She graduated from Otago and first came to Queenstown in 1989. She enjoys providing gentle dental care focused on achieving great dental health which looks great too.

Judy performs all forms of general dentistry with a recent interest in restoring dental implants and is committed to helping patients keep their teeth for life.

Judy is married with two sons who will testify all parenting advice received by their mother at has been put into practice - the result is sons she is very proud of.

When not at work she can be found on one of Queenstown's amazing hill trails or spending time with friends and family.

Dentist

Dr Lia Dessy-Moore

Lia is from Argentina, where she studied her Bachelor of Dental Surgery, tutoring in Biophysics and worked in general dentistry for 7 years. She also completed a 2 year Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry at the University of Buenos Aires in 2000.

Lia moved and settled in Queenstown and sat the New Zealand Dental Registration Examinations. With her relaxed style of treatment and her keen interest in complex restorations, crowns, bridges and dentures she brings 20 years of experience and a friendly and smiling vibe.

Outside of work Lia enjoys travelling with her husband and 4 year old daughter, snowboarding, skiing and riding her new electric bike.

Dentist

Dr Angela Maxwell-McRae

Angela has been practising dentistry for 18 years graduating from the University of Otago in 1998. She enjoys general dental practice and has a special interest in endodontics and minimal intervention dentistry. She also enjoys treating nervous patients and making their dental visits as painless and stress free as possible.

After living and working in Dunedin and then the UK, Angela returned to NZ and has been with the practice since 2006.

Outside of work she enjoys travelling, skiing, biking, music and if you are ever at the Arrowtown Autumn festival keep an eye out for her alter ego can-canning down the main street as a member of the Buckingham Belles.

Dentist

Dr Janet Lamont

Janet has been practising dentistry for 20 years graduating from Otago University in 1995.

She has experience in general practice, private practice, minor oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. After living and working in Auckland, Sydney and the UK, Janet returned to New Zealand 4 years ago and is happily settled in general dentistry, particularly enjoying a female group practice.

Janet is active in most sports, especially enjoying skiing, triathlons and dog walking.

Ania graduated from the University of Western Australia in 2004 and has worked in private practice since. In her 15 years of practice, Ania has owned a practice for 7 years and has also been a Clinical Consultant to the final year dental students at the Oral Health Centre of WA.

She joins the practice after seeking a lifestyle change and relocating to Queenstown from Perth, Australia with her physiotherapy husband after living there for more than 30 years.

Ania loves to provide a dental environment in which patients feel comfortable, welcomed and relaxed.

Her true passion is in conservative cosmetic dentistry especially composite veneers, though she enjoys restorative, crown and bridge and preventive dentistry. She encourages her patients to play an active role in their dental care and always does her best to reassure and educate them on their dental health.

Outside of work, Ania loves to travel and has visited many of the cold countries of the world. (Yes she loves the cold weather!). Ania also has a keen interest in photography, (having her own photography business) as well as enjoying the great outdoors including hiking & camping. She is keen to hit the local slopes and finally have the chance to learn how to ski.

Dr Catherine Lawson

Catherine brings together a skilled general surgery background, as well as excellent emergency care that is both thoughtful and designed to bring a smile to your face.

Originally from the UK and practicing for 7 years, 4 of which are local, she is happy to call Queenstown home.

Catherine has a passion for Oral Surgery and is able to offer a variety of options to suit everyone's needs. 

Catherine is a lover of the outdoors, trying to fit as much skiing, walks and hikes in as she can.

Hygienist

Jessie Tucker

Jessie has been practising Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy for 5 years.

She has more focus on Dental Hygiene as this is where her passion is. She always strives to make her patients feel as comfortable as possible and is a firm believer that prevention is better than cure. Jesse wants her patients to love coming in for their recall maintenance appointments.

Outside of work Jessie rows for Wakatipu Rowing Club, trains at the gym and enjoys tackling the beautiful mountains.

So if your adolescent hasn't have their teeth checked since year 8 call us- we have clinics on a Monday evening so they don't need to miss school!

Practice Manager

Helen Skudder

Helen has been with the practice since 2011 and gained the New Zealand Dental Association Certificate in Dental Assisting in 2012. With previous administrative experience Helen then stepped into the role of ‘Practice Manager’.

When not in the practice Helen’s interests include keeping fit by going to the gym, attending Jui Jitsu classes, mountain biking and utilising the many walking tracks around the Wakatipu region.

Helen is well known around the area for her services to the community as Candy Floss Fairy at events such as school and church fairs (which she disclosed as a conflict of dental interest at her initial interview!).
