Dr John Hodgson

Dr John Hodgson graduated in 1973 with a BDS and in 1982 with a MDS in Orthodontics from the University of Otago.

You could say dentistry runs in his blood, Dr Hodgson’s own father was an orthodontist and he says he has fond and fascinating memories of assisting him many years ago.

Dr Hodgson describes the work he does as a form of art and says he loves seeing the joy in his patients (and parents of patients) once treatment has been completed.

Dr John Muir

John graduated with a BDS from Otago University in 1971.

After graduating, John undertook postgraduate study in orthodontics. A five year term as a lecturer in Orthodontics at Otago University preceded him joining Dr W Hodgson (Dr John Hodgson's Father) in specialist orthodontic practise in Papatoetoe in 1985.

Dr Caleb Lawrence

Dr Caleb Lawrence is a specialist orthodontist. Caleb grew up in South Auckland and moved to Dunedin to pursue dentistry at the University of Otago.

In 2012, he graduated with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS). After graduating, Caleb then worked for the university as a dental house surgeon, followed by a couple of years working in both the public and private sectors in Queensland, Australia.

In 2016, Caleb was accepted into the orthodontic residency program, where he completed his Doctorate in clinical dentistry (DClinDent Orthodontics) over the next two years.

Dr Caleb Lawrence is a specialist orthodontist. Caleb grew up in South Auckland and moved to Dunedin to pursue dentistry at the University of Otago.

Since his graduation in 2018, Caleb has locumed throughout New Zealand, where he has had the opportunity to work in a range of different practices and environments throughout the country.

Caleb is passionate about his work and prides himself on building a great rapport with both his patients and their families. He enjoys the challenges of orthodontics and continually strives to maintain a high standard of care and detail for all those under his care.

In his spare time, Caleb enjoys spending time with his family and going on excursions, exploring new locations, seeing new sights, and creating memories. He loves being out in nature, particularly with his active boys and enjoys travelling and experiencing other cultures, especially their different cuisines, as food is a big part of his life.
