Dr John Hodgson

Dr John Hodgson graduated in 1973 with a BDS and in 1982 with a MDS in Orthodontics from the University of Otago.

You could say dentistry runs in his blood, Dr Hodgson’s own father was an orthodontist and he says he has fond and fascinating memories of assisting him many years ago.

Dr Hodgson describes the work he does as a form of art and says he loves seeing the joy in his patients (and parents of patients) once treatment has been completed.

Dr John Muir

John graduated with a BDS from Otago University in 1971.

After graduating, John undertook postgraduate study in orthodontics. A five year term as a lecturer in Orthodontics at Otago University preceded him joining Dr W Hodgson (Dr John Hodgson's Father) in specialist orthodontic practise in Papatoetoe in 1985.

Dr. Jennifer (Qianfeng) Li

Dr Jennifer Li had her Bachelor of Dental Medicine and Master of Orthodontic training from the School of Stomatology, Xi’an JiaoTong University, her Ph.D training from Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. She then went on for a fourth months postdoc research training with the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Michigan focusing on the molecular mechanism of cleft palate during embryonic craniofacial development.

Dr Li worked with Orthodontic Discipline of Sydney University as a lecturer for more than 4 years, had collaboration with the Sleep Research Centre of St. George Hospital…

Dr Jennifer Li had her Bachelor of Dental Medicine and Master of Orthodontic training from the School of Stomatology, Xi’an JiaoTong University, her Ph.D training from Orthodontics, Faculty of Dentistry, The University of Hong Kong. She then went on for a fourth months postdoc research training with the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Michigan focusing on the molecular mechanism of cleft palate during embryonic craniofacial development.

Dr Li worked with Orthodontic Discipline of Sydney University as a lecturer for more than 4 years, had collaboration with the Sleep Research Centre of St. George Hospital on the treatment of sleep apnoea patients when working with the University, and carried on full time research study on the data of sleep apnoea patients before and after the treatment with the team prior to her joining the University of Hong Kong Orthodontics as a Clinical Assistant Professor for two years.

Dr Li was elected as the Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2016, 8 years since she passed the Edinburgh exam in Orthodontics and became a member of Edinburgh college in 2008. She is also an active member of most of the orthodontic organizations.

Dr Li likes sports, playing musical instrument, photography, traveling, and spending time with friends.
