Gavin graduated from the University of Stellenbosch , Cape Town , South Africa in 1994 with a B.Ch.D. He has experience working in the United Kingdom, South Africa and Dubai.

Outside of the practice you will find Gavin spending with his wife and child. They love the outdoors, hiking (tramping) and experiencing all that the country has to offer.
Dr Richard Allwright
Richard graduated with a BChD from the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2014. He also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Endodontics from the University of Pretoria, 2018.
Richard immigrated to NZ in 2021 and has worked in private practice since 2015. His dental interests include endodontics, restorative dentistry, implantology and prosthodontics. Richards's goal is to grow in all fields of dentistry as one can never stop learning and growing as a person and a professional.

What Richard loves most about his job is creating a calm and relaxed atmosphere for his patients. He has been on the receiving end of the dental chair many times in the past resulting in a lot of empathy for his patients. He also likes to see patients walk out of his room having a very clear understanding of their oral health, associated problems (if any) and what treatments are available and necessary for them as an individual.
Outside the practice, Richard enjoys all sports especially tennis, cricket, golf, disc golf, ultimate frisbee, touch rugby, MTB, tramping and supping. He also enjoys walking his two dogs, travelling, socialising and spending time with friends and family. He is also a keen birder/twitcher.
Kelly Holmes
Kelly Holmes is the Practice Manager at Paul Burgess Dental in Nelson.
She gets pleasure out of giving the best customer service she can and likes working in a team environment. She’s a people person who loves having fun.
With a long career in retail, Kelly wanted a completely new challenge and found that with Lumino.
Outside of the practice, Kelly enjoys spending time with her her family and enjoys Nelson’s beautiful nature, where she has lived her whole life.

His dental interests include endodontics, 3D printing, digital dentistry and planning.

Liss Kelly
Liss graduated with a Bachelor in Oral Health from the University of Otago in 2016 and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health in 2018.
Liss worked for the Southern Community Oral Health Service seeing children as well as Adolescents and Dental Hygiene at a busy private in Dunedin in her first three years out working. Liss has worked in Nelson, Dunedin and worked as a locum in Queenstown.
Liss is passionate about providing preventative care to patients in a judgement free approach that empowers patients on their journey to improving their oral health.
In her free time, Liss loves spending time in nature and with friends and family. Liss enjoys photography and cold water ocean swims.
