Dr Jason Bradshaw has been part of our Lumino Rangiora team for five years and now joins the team at Lumino Christchurch City too.
What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?
Working with my hands was a big factor. I also liked the combination of sciences that seemed to be involved.
How long have you been practising dentistry?
10 years.
Tell us about your career background.
I graduated in 2011 and moved back to Blenheim to start my dental career. I worked there for 3 and a half years before deciding to head off overseas for a couple of years. I spent a couple of years working in London for a company that makes Oral Health care products before heading back to Christchurch, where I’ve been ever since!
What do you love most about your job?
The ability to help people both on a micro and macro level. The most rewarding parts of my job are when I can not only resolve a specific issue for a patient but also when I can improve a patient's overall approach to their Oral Health.
What are your special interests in dentistry?
I enjoy most general facets of Dentistry but in particular, my interests lie in fixed Prosthodontics as well as Invisalign Orthodontic treatment.
What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?
Don’t rinse out after you brush your teeth! You want to leave the fluoride from your toothpaste in your mouth for ideally 30 minutes after brushing, so don’t rinse out with water or mouthwash after you brush!
Where would we find you outside of the practice?
Probably playing sports. I enjoy playing Basketball as well as indoor and outdoor Football.
