What made you decide to get into dentistry as a career?
I was initially drawn to dentistry as a career because it combines my interest in science and my desire to help people. I enjoy the opportunity to make a positive impact on individuals' well-being by promoting healthy smiles and combining the practical hands-on elements of dentistry.
How long have you been practising dentistry?
I’ve been practicing dentistry for 2 years in the UK.
Tell us about your career background?
My career background includes a range of experiences in both general practice and a busy dental hospital. I've completed rotations in oral surgery, dental emergency clinics, child dental health, and restorative dentistry. These experiences have provided me with a well-rounded skill set and understanding of various aspects of dental care.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most about my job is the ability to positively impact people's lives through improved oral health. Building relationships with my patients and witnessing their increased confidence and comfort with their smiles brings me great satisfaction.
What is the main piece of advice you give your patients?
One of the most important pieces of advice I give to my patients is to prioritize preventive care. Regular dental check-ups, proper oral hygiene practices, and a balanced diet play a crucial role in maintaining optimal oral health and preventing more serious issues down the line.
Why is this so important?
Preventive care is vital because it empowers patients to take control of their oral health, identify potential issues early on, and address them before they become more complex and costly to treat. By adopting good oral hygiene habits and attending regular check-ups, patients can enjoy healthier smiles and avoid unnecessary discomfort.
Where would we find you outside of the practice?
In my free time, I can usually be found outdoors, exploring new hiking trails, or challenging myself on a bouldering wall. Recently, I have been learning how to snowboard, and this endeavour has proven to be both challenging and rewarding.
